10. Cap-Rouge
Entering Quebec City along the King's Road leads straight through the heart of the city
and past the outlying, southwestern suburb of Cap-Rouge, location of the earliest (and un-
successful) French settlement. Today archaeologists exhumed the remains of the colony at
Parc Cartier-Roberval, which offers interpretive walking trails and views of the Canadian
National Railway trestle bridge that spans the St. Lawrence River.
