The Medora Musical
Since 1985 in historic Medora, theatergoers have been flocking to the Burning Hills
Amphitheatre to view the Medora Musical, a high-energy show that explores the life
of U.S. president Theodore Roosevelt when he was a Rough Rider cowboy in the
North Dakota Badlands during the 1880s.
Performed nightly from June through September, this Western-style performance
is a mix of singing, dancing, and variety acts; horses and wagons; stuntmen shooting,
fighting, and falling from large rocks; a live band; and a fireworks extravaganza. Kids
are invited onstage each night to join in this patriotic tribute to the Old West way of
life. For more information or to reserve tickets, visit www.medora.org .
The South Unit's 36-mile Scenic Loop Drive in Theodore Roosevelt National Park includes interpretive signs that explain
the park's historical and natural features.
