10. East Gate Registration Complex
Beyond Wasagaming, on Hwy. 19, the historic East Gate beckons drivers to pass through
one of Canada's last remaining original park gates. Its log-cabin construction exemplifies
therusticstylethatdominatedparkarchitecturethroughthe1930s.Hwy.19providesample
opportunities to access the park's historic sites, including a WWII conscientious objectors
camp and Grey Owl's Cabin, home for a few months to Archie Belaney (also known as
Grey Owl), one of the first promoters of conservation practices, and his pet beavers, Jelly
Roll and Rawhide.
11. Lake Audy Bison Enclosure

up-close look at the “prairie cows” that supported centuries of First Nations people on the
plains. To learn more about First Nation culture, visit the Keesee Sharing Lodge in Was-
agaming, a museum and learning center run by the Keeseekoowenin Ojibway First Nation.
