Apache Trail
In the shadow of Arizona's Superstition Mountains arcs an old Indian path so
studded with desert delights that it is a treat for any traveler. It led President
Roosevelt to declare that the Apache Trail “combines the grandeur of the Alps,
the glory of the Rockies, and the magnificence of the Grand Canyon.”

Start with a full tank of gas and plenty of water.

Despite its short length, the drive can take a full day due to low

Located some 30 miles to the east of Phoenix, this gateway to Arizona's desert lake region
is the spot where Rte. 60 meets Rte. 88, also known as the Apache Trail. But another meet-
