PATCHWORK PARKWAY SCENIC BYWAY
A year-round feast for the eyes, this 55-mile side trip serves up meadows confettied
with wildflowers in summer, vivid aspens and maples in fall, and—in every sea-
son—the radiant reds of nearby Cedar Breaks National Monument, an exquisite lime-
stone amphitheater. Heading southwest from Panguitch on Rte. 143, the drive arcs
past lovely Panguitch Lake, passes Rte. 148—the access road to Cedar Breaks—then

Braffit Ridge and the vermilion cliffs of Parowan Canyon before reaching the town of
Parowan.
4. Bryce Canyon Scenic Drive
The beauty of Bryce Canyon can be sampled along an 18-mile drive that traces much
of its rim. Scenic overlooks—many with views that on a clear day extend 100 miles or
more—provide plenty of opportunities for picture taking or wandering along some of the
park's 61 miles of trails.
