9.3.2 Ventilation Controls for High-Occupancy Areas
Demand control ventilation (DCV) is required for densely occupied spaces . This
requirement supersedes the occupant density threshold in Section  4 of
EEECBC [6].
If CO 2 sensors are used as part of a DCV system, they shall be designed
and installed as defined in the following section.
CO 2 Sensors
Spaces with CO 2 sensors or air-sampling probes leading to a central CO 2
monitoring station shall have one sensor or probe for each 10,000 ft² (1000 m²)
of floor space and shall be located in the room between 3 ft and 6  ft (1  m
and 2  m) above the floor. CO 2 sensors must be accurate to ±50 ppm  at
1000 ppm. For all spaces with CO 2 sensors, target concentrations shall be cal-
culated for full and part load conditions (to include no less than 25%, 50%,
75% and 100%). Metabolic rate, occupancy, ceiling height and outdoor air CO 2
