Paints and coatings used on the interior of the building (defined as inside
of the weatherproofing system and applied on-site) shall comply with either
6.2.13.2.1 or 6.2.13.2.2.
6.2.13.2 Emissions
6.2.13.2.1 Emissions Requirements
Emissions shall be determined according to CA/DHS/EHLB/R-174 (com-
monly referred to as California Section  01350) and shall comply with the
limit requirements for either office or classroom spaces regardless of the
space type.
6.2.13.2.2 VOC Content Requirements
VOC content shall comply with and be determined according to and comply
with the following limit requirements:
1. Architectural paints, coatings and primers applied to interior sur-
faces walls and ceilings: Green Seal Standard GS-11
2. Clear wood finishes, floor coatings, stains, sealers and shellacs:
SCAQMD rules
6.2.13.3 Floor Covering Materials
Floor covering materials installed in the building interior shall comply with
the following:
1. Carpet: Carpet shall be tested in accordance with and shown to be
compliant with the requirements of CA/DHS/EHLB/R-174 (com-
monly referred to as California Section 01350). Products that have
been verified and labelled to be in compliance with Section 9 of the
CA/DHS/EHLB/R-174 comply with this requirement.
2. Hard surface flooring in office spaces and classrooms : Materials
shall be tested in accordance with and shown to be compliant with
the requirements of CA/DHS/EHLB/R-174 (commonly referred to
as California Section  01350). Products that have been verified and
labelled to be in compliance with SCS-EC10.2 comply with this
requirement.
6.2.13.4 Composite Wood, Wood Structural Panel and Agrifibre Products
Composite wood, wood structural panels and agrifibre products used on
the interior of the building (defined as inside of the weatherproofing system )
shall contain no added urea-formaldehyde resins. Laminating adhesives
