in Pasco and Richland.

cious Thai food and has an inexpensive lunch buffet weekdays ($8) and a popular dinner buffet on Friday and Saturday ($14).

best local Chinese food.
Located in a cozy old railroad dining car, Monterosso's Italian Restaurant (1026 Lee Blvd., Richland, 509/946-4525, 5-10 P.M. Mon.-Thurs.,
5-10 P.M. Fri.-Sat.) simmers and stews classic Italian cuisine and nightly seafood specials. Reservations are recommended.
Steaks and Burgers
For seafood, steak, prime rib, and pasta with outside riverside seating, head to Cedars Restaurant and Lounge (7 Clover Island, next to the

Probably because Yakima Valley and Columbia Basin lead the nation in hops production, the Tri-Cities have become a center of microbrewed
beer. Atomic Ale Brewpub & Eatery (1015 Lee Blvd., Richland, 509/946-5465, www.atomicalebrewpub.com , 11 A.M.-10 P.M. Mon.-Thurs.,
11:30 A.M.-11 P.M. Fri.-Sat., 11 A.M.-8 P.M. Sun.) is the oldest among dozens of local microbrewers. Its beers include the appropriately named
Plutonium Porter, Atomic Amber, and Half-Life Hefeweizen. The menu centers on wood-fired pizzas, though they also have steaks, seafood, and
bratwurst. There's live music every Monday evening.
Kimos at Rattlesnake Mountain Brewing Company (1250 Columbia Center Blvd., Richland, 509/783-5747,
www.rattlesnakemountainbrewing.com , 3-11 P.M. Mon.-Thurs., 11 A.M.-1 A.M. Fri., 9 A.M.-1 A.M. Sat., 9 A.M.-10 P.M. Sun.) is one of the
nicer local places and also features outside dining along the Columbia River. Oriental wasabi chicken salad and Rattlesnake Buffalo wings attract
attention on its reasonably priced menu.

Visit the Pasco Farmers Market (4th Ave. and Columbia St., 509/545-0738, 8 A.M.-noon Wed. and Sat. May-Nov. for local produce, sausages,
fresh breads, and arts and crafts. The Kennewick's Southridge Farmers Market (corner of Kennewick Ave. and Benton St., 509/528-4592, ht-
tp://southridgefarmersmarket.com , 4-8 P.M. Thurs., Southridge Village) is small but has a particular hometown feeling.

pizzas.

duce market and ice-cream parlor, and provides “agricultural entertainment” in October that includes a seasonal corn-field maze, petting zoo, and
pumpkin patch. It's great fun for families.
