About a mile east of town off I-82, an oasis of green awaits at
Yakima Sportsman State Park.
Year-round, kids can fish the pond, stocked with
bluegill, trout, catfish, and carp. Adults can try their luck on the nearby Yakima River. Tent sites run $21 and RV sites are $31. Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sites are available, as are coin-operated showers. Be sure to tackle the miles of hiking trails while you're here.

is home to the Hazel Wolf Bird Sanctuary in the Wenas Valley. Camping here is primitive—we mean it! There is
no fresh water available and you can expect to dig your own trenches.
