of local pairwise alignments (fragments) that are incorporated into the final MSA

Program Availability at GOBICS and BiBiServ
Various versions of DIALIGN are available to the research
community through web servers; in addition, the program code is
freely available. Since much of the program development has been
done at University of Bielfeld , Germany, the standard version of
DIALIGN is available from Bielefeld University Bioinformatics
Server (BiBiServ) ( http://bibiserv.techfak.uni-bielefeld.de/ )
(Fig. 1 ). Here, it is also possible to run DIALIGN 2.2.1 through
an easy-to-use web interface. Fig. 2 shows the web interface at
BiBiserv.
When I moved to University of G¨ttigen , Germany, in 2002, the
main development work on DIALIGN continued there, and a
