Getting Around
Getting around Ukraine isn't as difficult as it may first appear. Bus is the best way to cover
distances of up to around 100km; after that let the train, probably a sleeper, take the
strain. Detailed bus timetables can be found at
www.bus.com.ua
.
Ukrainian Railways
(
www.uz.gov.ua
)
has an online timetable and you can even book tickets on the web.
Train
Cheap but slow; best for overnight journeys between big cities. Some new express
trains link Ukraine's biggest cities during the day.
Bus
Very cheap with regular services but normally packed to bursting and unbearably hot
in summer.
Car
Only advisable for the main routes between the biggest cities and for tours such as
the Gogol Circuit.
