Getting There & Around
BUS
Buses go pretty much everywhere from distant
Avtovokzal 1
(Bus station 1; vul Velikotyrni-
vska)
, about 5.5km east of the city centre and reached by any bus or
marshrutka
marked.
The most useful are to Myrhorod (34uah, two hours, at least hourly), Kharkiv (50uah, 2½
to three hours, many daily) and Dnipropetrovsk (57uah, four hours, hourly). Avtolyux
and many other operators run buses to Kyiv (75uah to 100uah, six hours, at least twice
hourly). On the Gogol circuit, Hoholeve can be reached by taking any bus to Velyka
Bagachka (Myrhorod and Kremenchuk services; 26uah, 1½ hours, many daily), where
you should change to local
marshrutky
.
Avtovokzal 3
(Bus station No 3; vul Zhinkinvska 6B)
just outside Kyivsky shopping mall
and close to Kyivsky train station has services to Dikanka (10uah, at least hourly).
New fast
marshrutky
leave when full from outside the Kyivsky train station for
Kharkiv (50uah).

TRAIN
Poltava has two train stations - Pivdenniy Vokzal and Kyivsky Vokzal - the duo con-
veniently located on complete opposite sides of the city, around 6.5km apart.
Poltava is a stop on the Intercity+ service between Kyiv (174uah, three hours, five
daily), Kharkiv (135uah, 1½ hours, three daily) and Donetsk (185uah, four hours, two
daily). The Kharkiv train stops at Kyivsky Vokzal while the Donetsk service makes a halt
at the Pivdenniy Vokzal. Make sure you go to the right one! All of these express services
stop in Myrhorod (124uah, one hour, five daily) en route to/from the capital.

Trolleybus 1 links the two stations via the city centre. Trolleybuses 2, 4, 6 and 11 run
from Pivdenniy Vokzal to the city centre.
