need visas for Russia. Israelis and most South Americans don't. Customs proced-
ure can be atrociously slow, if you travel by car. Marshrutka1 gets you from Kerch's
bus station to the port in about 45 minutes.
Getting There & Around
BUS
All west-bound buses go via Feodosiya (35uah, two hours, frequent). Most of them con-
tinue to SImferopol (80uah, 4¾ hours, half-hourly). Four buses a day pass on the way to
Krasnodar (120uah, 8½ hours) - the nearest large city in Russia.
MARSHRUTKA
Marshrutka 5 is the most frequent of many services between the bus station and the town
centre, leaving whenever full. Marshrutka 16 plies just one of several routes between the
bus and train stations.
TRAIN
Kerch's small train station is a lot quieter than its bus station. All regular trains are bound
for Moscow via Kharkiv (120uah, 15 hours).
