queen shows still occasionally take place. But they keep their promise not to let anyone
leave hungry, sober or sad. This Rhodes-styled courtyard is the place to hang out with
Sevastopol's gilded youth - gay and straight alike. It's supposed to be a pre-party DJ bar,
but it is heaving till early morning.

Khersones Theatre THEATRE

theatre stages costumed historical dramas amid the ruins of ancient Khersones. Tickets
are sold on the day at the entrance to Khersones from around 4pm.

Getting There & Away
AIR
Sevastopol's Belbek airport, once used by Soviet leaders travelling to their Crimean
dachas, is now catering to ordinary folks, with several Dniproavia flights to Kyiv and
Moscow, in summer only.
BUS
There are buses to Bakhchysaray (15uah, one hour, every 15 minutes), Yalta (27uah, two
hours, half-hourly) and Simferopol (27uah, two hours, every 15 minutes). There are two
services a day for Odesa (210uah, 14 hours)
FERRY
Boat services to Turkey were suspended when we visited.
