Tsiferblat OFFLINE MAP (vul Admirala Zhukova 3/7; 1st hour 30uah, each subsequent hr 15uah;
11am-midnight) The Moscow-born 'open space' craze has reached the shores of Odesa,
so now local hipsters also have a place to enjoy the company of their laptops or real-life
friends, play intellectual games, drink free coffee and lemonade, while paying only for
the time they spend here. It is a happening place, with cooking classes, acoustic concerts
and plenty of other activities. For travellers, it is an unhassled environment to use wi-fi
and to meet cool (or nerdy) locals.
Getting There & Away
AIR
Odesa airport ( www.odessa.aero ) was still an old Soviet affair at the time of writing, but a
new terminal might open before this edition expires. Odesa is better linked to Europe
than any other Ukrainian airport, with the exception of Kyiv's airport. Lufthansa, Aero-
flot, LOT, Air Baltic, Czech Airlines and Turkish Airlines all have regular flights to Ode-
sa, and various regional carriers fly to former Soviet countries. The Ukrainian airline
MAU has flights from Odesa to Vienna, Istanbul and Tel-Aviv.
MAU and Utair fliy between Odesa and Kyiv up to eight times daily. Kiy Avia

(Turkey), Constanta (Romania) and Poti (Georgia) ceasing for months on end without
explanation. Besides, departure times can be easily delayed by up to 24 hours. Boats are
in theory operated by Ukrferry ( www.ukrferry.com ) but planning onward travel around
these guys is folly indeed. The only reliable passenger service from Odesa (not run by
Ukrferry) is the boat to Crimea (990uah, 20 hours, five to seven sailings a month). For
tickets and timetables contact London Sky Travel ( Click here ) .
BUS
Odesa has two bus stations that are useful for travellers. The conveniently located, but
slightly chaotic, Privoz bus station (vul Vodoprovodna) , 300m west of the train station, is
