Dedicated entirely to the city of Lviv,
there's nothing dim about the 'House of Legends'. The five floors house a library stuffed
with Lviv-themed volumes, a room showing live webcam footage of Lviv's underground
river, rooms dedicated to lions and cobblestones, and another featuring the city in
sounds. A GDR Trabant occupies the roof terrace, the views from which will have you
reaching for your camera. From the limited menu, go for the pork chop in berry sauce or
the lavash bread stuffed with roast chicken, followed by the delicious apple struddle. It
also does a kick-starting breakfast.

There's no gimmick at one of Lviv's
finest dining spots where the refined interior, peaceful music and perfectly placed patio
compliment food that puts this place ahead of its rivals. Fancy European fare like fondue
and risotto fill the menu and the drinks menu contains just about every beverage known
to man.

One of the pre-tourism 'originals',
this place is designed to feel like stepping back in time - to 1938 in particular, 'the year
before civilisation ended' (ie before the Soviets rolled in). The olde-worlde interior is
lined with framed letters, ocean-liner ads, antique cutlery, hampers and other memorabil-
ia, and the Polish/Austrian/Ukrainian food is tasty and served with style.
