(vul Dominkanska) Vul Dominikanska cuts south from Polish Market Sq, linking it with the
Armenian Quarter. Here you'll find the Dominican Monastery complex, some parts of
which date from the 14th century. The buildings suffered serious damage during WWII
but are now under constant restoration. The monastery Church of St Nicholas holds ser-
vices in Ukrainian and Polish throughout the day.
Armenian Quarter
The Armenian Quarter is centred around the quiet Armenian Market Sq, an elongated
cobbled expanse to the south of the Polish Quarter. The Armenians are long gone, but the
name remains.

(vul Pyatnytska 11; admission 10uah; 10am-5pm Tue-Sun, 1to 4pm Mon) The permanent col-
lections here are of wildly varying quality and some works are in downright wretched
condition. But temporary exhibitions lift the mood and if the art on the walls doesn't im-
press, the elaborate parquet floors will.
