bank of the Dnipro, Slavutych lets you marvel at the golden domes of Kyevo-Pecherska
Lavra and Vydubytsky Monastery from its bland, but totally acceptable, rooms. A
Korean restaurant on the top floor comes as a bonus. The hotel is a short ride from
Druzhby Narodiv metro by any
marshrutka
going across Paton bridge, eg 527.

Incoveniently located around 5km south of the city centre, just to the east of Zhuly-
any airport, this superb seven-room family-run hotel has immaculately kept rooms in
period style and receives encouraging reviews from travellers for its friendly welcome.
The location feels almost rural, but you'll need to arrange a pickup from Lybidska metro
station to find it or grab a cab.
Eating
Note that most drinking venues also make fine and often cheaper places to eat, especially
if you can't bear to be more than 2m away from a keg at any given time. For further eat-
ing options, see the

The perpetually long queue moves with lightning speed towards a window where
two women hand out pieces of fried dough enclosing a mouthwatering sausage. The
place became a local institution long before locals heard 'hot dog' for the first time. An
essential Kyiv experience.
