This friendly family-run hotel has an understated style, with
smallish, individually decorated rooms tending towards the traditional, but with cleaner
lines and fewer florals than usual. The hotel is in a quiet spot just a three-minute walk
from maydan Nezalezhnosti.

Perched above Olympic Stadium, it is a Soviet-era high-rise hotel transformed in-
to a professionally run establishment. It's a bit of an uphill grind to walk here, but it's
perfect if you're in town for a football match.

What makes this hotel different is the kitchenettes in each of the large comfortable
rooms. It's not like Kyiv has any shortage of good inexpensive food, but should you need
to cater for yourself - here is a perfect choice. Breakfast isn't included in the rates.

Other Ukrainian hotels can only dream of having the Hyatt's view
of duelling 11th-century churches. Inside, everything is just as perfect, from the fabulous
gym to the spacious and eminently comfortable rooms, to its popular panorama bar and
Grill Asia restaurant. Western leaders tend to stay here and we've never heard them com-
plain.
