Australian citizens can obtain up-to-date visa information from the U.S. Embassy Canberra,
Moonah Place, Yarralumla, ACT 2600 (& 02/6214-5600 ) or by checking the U.S. Diplomatic Mis-
sion's website at http://canberra.usembassy.gov/visas.html .
British subjects can obtain up-to-date visa information by calling the U.S.EmbassyVisaInform-
ationLine (& 09042-450-100 from within the U.K. at £1.20 per minute; or & 866-382-3589 from
within the U.S. at a flat rate of $16 and is payable by credit card only) or by visiting the “Visas to
the U.S.” section of the American Embassy London's website at http://london.usembassy.gov/
visas.html .
Irish citizens can obtain up-to-date visa information through the U.S.EmbassyDublin, 42 Elgin
Rd., Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 (& 1580-47-VISA [8472] from within the Republic of Ireland at €2.40 per
minute; http://dublin.usembassy.gov ).
Citizens of NewZealand can obtain up-to-date visa information by contacting the U.S.Embassy
New Zealand, 29 Fitzherbert Terrace, Thorndon, Wellington (& 644/462-6000; ht-

Visitor Information Contact Zion National Park, Springdale, UT 84767 (& 435/772-3256;
www.nps.gov/zion). Officials will mail you information (they request that you write rather than call,
at least a month before your planned visit), but you will find everything they will send you and more
at the park website. You can also get information at www.twitter.com/zionnps and see a variety of
photos at www.flickr.com/photos/zionnps.
You can purchase books, posters, maps, DVDs, and CDs related to the park from the nonprofit
ZionNaturalHistoryAssociation, Zion National Park, Springdale, UT 84767 (& 800/635-3959
or 435/772-3265; www.zionpark.org ) . Some publications are available in foreign languages, in-
cluding German, French, Japanese, and Chinese. Those wanting to help the nonprofit association
can join ($45 single or $60 family annually) and get a 20% discount on purchases, a 20% discount
on most Zion Canyon Field Institute classes, and discounts at most other nonprofit bookstores at
national parks, monuments, historic sites, and recreation areas.
Among the publications available from the Zion Natural History Association is the inexpensive
and easy-to-understand 22-page booklet AnIntroductiontotheGeologyofZionNationalPark, by
Al Warneke. Those who want more information, plus some spectacular photos, should consider
Water,Rock&Time:TheGeologicStoryofZionNationalPark, by Dr. Robert L. Eves. With a
foreword by Robert Redford, ACenturyofSanctuary TheArtofZionNationalPark is a beautiful
collection of about 140 historic and contemporary paintings depicting the park plus five essays.
There are also a number of detailed hiking guides and specialized books on the area's plants and
animals.
Those planning to spend a lot of time in the backcountry on Zion's trails should purchase the Trails
Illustrated topographic map.
