AHCI (SATA)

h e AHCI is the only non-SCSI storage adapter. Introduced in
vSphere 5.5, this virtual SATA adapter is compatible with newer
Windows and Linux OSes and supports all Mac OS X versions. It
supports a maximum of four adapters per VM and 30 virtual drives
per adapter. Typically it's used for virtual CD-ROM devices.

h is virtual SCSI adapter emulates the BusLogic parallel SCSI
adapter. h e BusLogic adapter is well supported for older guest
OSes but doesn't perform as well as some other virtual SCSI
adapters.
