In most enterprise environments, the vCenter Server inventory will be a hybrid of the differ-
ent topologies. Perhaps one topology might be a geographical top level, followed by departmen-
tal management, followed by project-based resource coni guration.
Folders can be used to organize all different object types within vCenter Server. Figure 3.19
shows how you have the ability to create folders designated for the different objects such as
hosts and clusters or VMs and templates.

These inventory views are mostly separate and independent, although as we pointed out
