In-Depth Information
The pH has significant influence on adsorption and it was observed that all the
adsorbents were effective at neutral pH range for both fluoride and arsenite. The
adsorptionofluoridereachedequilibriumaround180min,whilethesameforarse-
nitetook240min.
The adsorption of fluoride followed Lagergren pseudo first order kinetics while
arseniteadsorptionfollowedsecondorderkinetics.ApplicationofFreundlichand
Langmuir isotherms indicated good adsorption capacities for both fluoride and
arsenite.
The results show that waste bamboo dust could be explored as a suitable material
for removal of fluoride and arsenite from water.
