In-Depth Information
2. Use Internet-friendly i le and folder names. When it's time to share
i les, having used Internet-friendly names from the start is a big time
saver. Most importantly, don't use spaces in names; use dashes or
underscores to separate words instead. Don't use special characters like
“/”, “$”, “@”, “%” and no punctuation . Parentheses () and apostrophes '
should be avoided.

Right: 041808_Sam_Birthday
3. Use the same base i le name for all the images from a single shoot.
Dif erentiate them with a serial number at the end of each i le name.
4.
h e names of your folders should be consistent with the names of
the i les they contain.
h e automatic i le names the camera assigns to i les are not useful in our
workl ow. h erefore, one of the key steps in the import process is to rename the
i les to something more meaningful. Your base i le name should contain:
1. h e date the photo was taken;
2. h e subject or location of the photograph or an identii er such as client
name, etc.; and
3. Serial (sequence) number.
