• Panoramas: from Lightroom, you can use Photoshop or other sot ware to stitch
exposures for panoramas. To do it in Photoshop, use the menu command in
Lightroom: Photo ➔ Edit In… ➔ Merge to Panorama in Photoshop.

• Placing multiple images in a Photoshop (tif) i le as layers: Photo ➔ Edit In…
➔ Open as Layers in Photoshop.

• Advanced noise reduction: if you specify a standalone noise reduction
program as an external editor (see below) Lightroom will hand of i les for
processing in that program.

External editor preferences
In Preferences, you can specify other programs to use as external editors for
Lightroom; see Figure 9-8. If you have one or more versions of Photoshop installed
on your computer, the most recent version will be selected as the primary external
editor by default (and you can't change this). But you can set any other program as
the secondary external editor, and can save presets for as many as you need.
