In-Depth Information
For accurate color, in nearly all cases I recommend using icc p roi les and having
Lightroom handle the color management. I always use this method, unless I'm
printing black and white; see the next section.

Click the black triangle button
at the top right of the panel to
show additional information
about the settings; see Figure
6-37.
To do this, select a proi le
from the popup menu; see
Figure 6-38. If none are listed
in the menu, select Other…
A dialog box appears that
allows you to add proi les into
Lightroom. All the available
proi les on your computer are
shown here. Choose the icc p roi le
made for your printer and the type of
paper(s) you are using.

If no printer proi les are listed, you
can download them from your printer
and/or paper manufacturer's Web site.
For example, if you're using an Epson
printer and Epson paper, you can
get the proi le from the Epson Web
site. If you're using an Epson printer
and Ilford paper, you will need to
look on the Ilford site for the correct
proi le. Make sure to use the proi le
made specii cally for your model of
printer. Unfortunately, in rare cases,
none will be available, and you'll need
to use the closest alternative or use
Printer Color Management (discussed
momentarily).
