C hromatic Aberration
Chromatic aberration (ca) is ca used by the
camera lens (see Figure 4-66). Under certain
lighting conditions, when the light comes
through the lens, the light rays are scattered
at the point where they hit the sensor, causing
colored edges to appear in the image. ca is
easiest to i nd near the corners of the image,
along edges of high contrast.
Use the Chromatic Aberration adjustments in
the Lens Corrections panel to remove ca. Z oom
in very close (even up to 11:1 can be helpful).
Drag the sliders to realign the color channels
until the edges line up. Lightroom intelligently
shrinks or enlarges the color channels
accordingly. You may ot en need to adjust both
sets of sliders.

Defringe
Fringing (also called blooming ) is dif erent from chromatic aberration; it's an
artifact that occurs on the sensor itself. Fringing happens when a high amount
of energy hits a photosite and some of its charge spills over onto adjacent
