A spectacular hilltop medieval village just kilometres from the Spanish border, Marvão
has recently gained huge international attention and is currently a candidate to become a
UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 360 degree panorama views gained from the village is
reason enough to visit, however, inside the fortified walls lies one of the most incredible vil-
lages in the country. Narrow cobbled streets are lined with whitewashed houses and decor-
