Once a quaint fishing village, Cascais became a favourite resort for European nobility in the
20 th Century, leading to its rise as a popular summer destination today. A trio of bays laden
with golden sand provide the main attraction for sun seekers, however, the town has plenty
to offer away from the crammed beaches. Modern, elegant streets are lined with fashionable
stores, fish restaurants, and lively bars, as well as a range of superb museums, stunning gar-
dens, and a sparkling marina.
