Introduction to Portugal
Perhaps sometimes eclipsed by its exuberant neighbour, Spain, Portugal has as much to offer

impersonates a big city, but remains totally medieval.

far south, the Algarve welcomes tourists with open arms, sandy beaches, and rural escapes

Get off the mainland and head to Portugal's autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores,
where postcards come to life in the perfect setting of these islands in the Atlantic Ocean. A
result of the great Age of Discovery, these archipelagos will enchant you with each island
displaying its own customs and traditions.
History, perfect surroundings, and delicious seafood are just the beginning in this wonderful
