Although the whole town of Sintra is like a historical theme park, there are several attrac-
tions which must be placed on any list. The wonderful Pena National Palace dominates the
town and is an incredible mix of Moorish and Gothic architecture with the Palácio de Pena
a stunning Romanticist palace which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one

Century Castelo dos Mouros provides exquis-
ite views and takes visitors on a journey through history while the Monserrate Gardens are
fantastically lush and offer stunning surroundings of a different kind. The Museu do Brin-
quedo should also make any list, containing over 20,000 toys from around the world it is
great fun for kids, but also adults who wish to relive their childhood.
