Chapter 5
Creating Movies
Creating Movies
without Recording
without Recording
The previous chapter described how to create a movie by recording
the keystrokes and screen images as you perform tasks on your com-
puter system. Sometimes, however, it is more efficient to create
movies in ways other than recording screen actions. This chapter
describes how to use the Scenario Simulation wizard, as well as how to
create blank movies, movies from image files, and movies from
PowerPoint files.
Creating a Scenario Simulation
The Scenario Simulation wizard helps you create scenario or interac-
tion-based training content that isn't necessarily tied to software
simulations, such as training for soft skills or sales presentations. The
Scenario Simulation wizard automatically creates the appropriate
slides which you can then edit as needed.
To use the Scenario Simulation wizard, follow these steps:
1.
Start the Captivate software. The first screen you'll see will be the
Captivate main menu.
2.
Click Record or create a new project to open the New project
options window.
3.
Click Scenario Simulation .
