nated server.
Exporting and Importing Text Captions
You can export text captions from an existing Captivate movie into a
Word document (DOC) or into an XML localization translation file for-
mat (XLIFF). The formatting from Captivate (font, color, size, etc.) will
be preserved in the output document. You can then make changes
using any of the Word features (such as global change and replace) or
send your captions out for translation if necessary. Once you've made
the changes, you can import the captions back into the original movie.
Exporting Captions to a Word File
Note: You must have Microsoft Word installed on your computer in
order to export text captions to a Word document.
To export, edit, and import text captions using a Word document, fol-
low these steps:
1.
From the File menu, select Export , and then choose Project cap-
tions and closed captions to display a standard Save As window.
2.
Captivate defaults to using the same name and same directory as
the project for your exported caption text. You can leave this name
as-is or type a new file name for the DOC file. You can also specify
a different directory or folder.
3.
Click Save to store the captions in a Word file (.doc format) and
display a confirmation dialog.
