In-Depth Information
Note: Selecting the JPEG or High quality format may increase the
file size and the time it takes to download your movie. You should
only use a format other than Standard when necessary and
appropriate.
Adding Custom Components
For each project, you can add a variety of special components to polish
the finished movie. For example, you can add a loading screen at the
beginning of the movie, and you have the option of including playback
controls to allow the viewer to start, stop, or “rewind” the movie. You
can also include a custom information screen that the viewer sees
when the Information button is pressed.
Movie Start Options
You can specify a variety of options for the beginning of your movie
through the Preferences window.
Loading screen—This displays an image (such as a clock or an icon
that says “Loading…”) while your movie is being prepared for the
viewer. For short movies displayed from a hard drive, the loading
process may be so short that you don't even see the loading
screen. For longer movies, particularly those distributed over the
Internet, you may want to include a loading screen to indicate that
the movie will start soon.
Password protection—You can limit the viewers of a movie by requir-
ing that a password be entered before the movie plays. You can set
one password for each movie.
Expiration date—Depending on the content of your movie, you may
want to limit the number of days that viewers can access your
movie. Do this by setting an expiration date for the movie.
Fade in—Rather than have the first screen on your movie appear sud-
denly, you can specify a fade-in effect.
