In-Depth Information
can't successfully click a certain box, you may want to replay the part
of the movie that described that box. Or, if the viewer performs a
series of tasks correctly, you may want to skip ahead to a more
advanced part of the movie. This sort of interactivity, combined with
the multiple destination options, ensures that the viewer is performing
the correct actions at each step in the movie.
A sample training simulation movie screen might look like this:
Figure 2-2. Training simulations wait for viewer interaction.
The simulation displays instructions in a text box and highlights the
area the viewer is supposed to click. If the viewer actually clicks in the
correct area, a “success caption” displays (in this case, the text “Great
Job!”) and the movie can then continue.
If, for example, the viewer clicked on a different area (such as the
Winter Journey Through the Ninth link above), then you could have a
“failure caption” display, or allow another try, or go back and restart
the movie.
