Adding and Editing Menu Items
The MenuBuilder window displays the current menu slide on the right
side of the screen and a variety of tools that let you edit the slide on
the left side of the screen. There are three main types of elements you
can add to MenuBuilder slides; although they use the same names as
slides that are not menu slides, the functions are slightly different
within MenuBuilder.
Text—Most of the menu items will be text items. These look much
like regular Captivate text captions, except that they also have an
associated click box that is the same size as the text.
Image—You can insert an image into a menu slide. Like other types of
images, you can crop or resize as needed. The MenuBuilder
images, like MenuBuilder text items, can be clicked to display
other movies or sites.
Clickbox—An area where the viewer can click on the screen, very
much like click boxes elsewhere within Captivate.
You can easily add any of the three menu item types to your menu
slide, whether or not the slide was created with the wizard. You can
also edit the properties of any menu item to change the way it looks or
acts when clicked. Editing the text menu items gives you more options
than were available from the MenuBuilder wizard (such as font style or
size).
