Viewing Movie File Size
Captivate can display file size in bytes for the entire movie, and break
it down to display the size of each individual slide and all the elements
on it. You can also see a graphic that represents how long the movie
will take to download at various connection speeds.
To display the movie file size, follow these steps:
1.
From the Project menu, choose Bandwidth Analysis to display
the Bandwidth Monitor window. The first tab, Slide Summary, dis-
plays information about the size of each slide and the length of
time it takes to play. The size of audio files, if any, is also identified.
Figure 12-12. Display the size of each slide.
2.
Click the Graph tab to display a visual representation of how long
it will take to display the movie over different types of connec-
tions. The vertical axis on the left of the graph represents the
amount of bandwidth the movie requires. The bottom, horizontal
axis represents the display time of the movie. In Figure 12-13, the
jagged black line represents the actual size of each slide. The hori-
zontal lines represent the amount of time for each bandwidth,
identified by color.
