Creating a Template
To use templates, you'll have to first create a movie that has the set-
tings you want. This can be as simple as a blank movie with publishing
and playback controls, or as complex as a multi-slide movie with sam-
ple text and audio, imported images, interactive elements, and a
complete quiz already set up.
To create a template, follow these steps:
1.
Create the movie that will serve as the basis of the template.
2.
From the File menu, choose Save as Template to display the
Save As window with the Templates folder already selected.

3.
Type a name for the template in the File name box. Captivate
defaults to using the same name as the movie you've created, and
automatically adds the .cptl extension.
Tip:
Choose a name that is not too specific, since you'll be using
this template in a variety of other projects. For example, although the
movie in Figure 12-5 was called HarryAFranck_demo, we saved the
template as simply Demo.cptl.
