Editing Question Slides
Captivate question slides are like other types of slides in that they
have a background and a variety of elements placed on top of the back-
ground. You can add elements such as text captions or images and
move any of these elements around as needed. You can also change
the font, re-enter text, or align the elements with other objects on the
slide as described in Chapter 7.
The true power of question slides, though, is that you don't have
to create all the elements individually. When you create a question
slide, Captivate automatically creates text elements, boxes, captions,
and a variety of other elements required for each question slide for-
mat. For example, a matching slide automatically includes text
captions that are designated as a slide title, a question, and titles for
each column. This type of slide can include success and failure cap-
tions like other interactive elements, plus additional types of captions
(incomplete and timeout). There are predefined buttons that allow the
viewer to work through a question slide, and there is a special cate-
gory of captions that only display after the viewer has completed a
quiz.
Although you can edit each element individually, it's easier and
more efficient to use the Edit Question button that displays in the
upper-left corner of each question slide. This button displays the same
windows that you used to create the question slide (described in the
earlier sections of this chapter) and allows you to access most of the
element properties. However, if you want to change the placement of a
question slide element or the font or size of the text that displays in
captions or messages, do this from the Captivate Edit view.
Setting Font Properties on Question Slides
1.
In Edit view, select the slide you want to edit.
2.
Double-click on the message that you want to change. Figure
10-50 shows the Failure Caption window that contains the default
text and default settings for caption type and font and other
properties.
