Working with Question Pools
If you want to randomize the questions in your movie—that is, specify
that a random question should appear at specified points throughout
the project—you can use the Question Pools function. This function
allows you to create sets or pools of questions, and then instead of
entering a question slide in the movie, you can enter a placeholder
slide that will be replaced with one of the question slides from the
specified pool. You can also have multiple pools. For example, if your
project has different sections, such as one on navigation and another
on history, you would create two separate pools (one for navigation and
one for history). This way, you could ensure that the questions that
display in each section apply to that section. Similarly, you could have
beginner, intermediate, and advanced level pools, then display ques-
tions from each at appropriate points in the movie.
There are three ways to add a question pool to your project:
Create the pool and the questions in it from the Question Pools
Manager.
Create your question slides, then import them into a question
pool.
Import a question pool from a different Captivate project.
Creating a Pool of Questions
The first step in creating a pool of questions is to create the pool file.
Do this through the Question Pools Manager.
1.
From the Quiz menu, choose Question Pools Manager . The
Manager window displays a lot of information about the questions
in each pool and the pools in the project.
