In-Depth Information
Decide if you want to use the Question Pool functionality to let
Captivate generate random questions at specified places through-
out the movie.
As you can see, Captivate offers a lot of options and thus gives you a
lot of control over the movies you create.
Working with Question Slides
Captivate lets you insert eight types of question slides into your
movie. For each slide, you'll need to define one question and enter
answers. You'll also need to set the question slide options, such as
which slide to display when the viewer answers correctly and whether
or not to display buttons that allow the viewer to skip a question.
You'll also need to specify whether or not you want to track the
answers for each question with the reporting function.
Entering Questions and Answers
Each of the eight types of question slides has its own requirements for
entering the question and answer (or in some cases, multiple
answers).
Table 10-1. Types of question slides
For this type of question:
Do this:
Multiple choice
Enter a list of possible answers, and indicate whether the viewer can
choose one or more than one and which one or ones are correct.
True/False
Indicate which is correct.
Fill-in-the-blank
Supply the correct answer or a list of answers from which the viewer
must choose. If you give a list of answers, indicate which are correct.
Short answer
Enter the correct answer.
Matching
Supply two lists of items that the viewer must pair up (one from col-
umn a, one from column b) and the correct matches.
Hot Spot
Similar to a multiple choice question, the hot spot question displays a
number of areas on the slide (the hot spots) that the viewer must
click. You can specify as many as 10 hot spots, and specify one or
more that are correct.
