Editing Audio Files
Captivate includes a basic audio editing tool that lets you adjust the
audio files to fit your needs. You can add silence (described in Table
8-3), delete parts of the audio, or adjust volume for an audio file. For
example, you may want to remove a single word rather than rerecord
the whole audio clip. Or you may want to remove some of the extra
silence that is often recorded at the beginning and ending of an audio
file.
Tip: Don't remove all of the silence—you need a little bit of space
at the beginning and end of each file so that if the audio plays near
another piece of audio it will sound more natural. You may also
want to use a small sample of silence in other places within your
movie to maintain ambient room noise and create a seamless effect.
To edit an audio file, follow these steps:
1.
Open the audio file properties window for the specific type of
element.
