Importing Existing Audio Files
If you already have audio files that you want to add to your Captivate
movie, you can do so in any of the following ways:
Add existing audio to an element on a slide.
Add existing audio to an entire slide or series of slides.
Add existing audio to the background of a movie.
The existing audio must be in either WAV or MP3 format. If you use
WAV format, Captivate will automatically convert the files to MP3 for-
mat for inclusion in your movie.
Tip: Captivate comes with a gallery of existing audio elements. By
default, these are stored in Captivate\Gallery\Sound. The import
audio function defaults to this location.
Adding Audio to Individual Elements
You can add audio to any of the elements on a slide, such as buttons,
click boxes, and success/failure captions. You can add voice files if you
have them or sound effects such as a ringing bell or buzzer. When you
associate audio with an element, the audio will not begin to play until
the element appears on the slide. To add existing audio to an element,
you can either choose from an audio file that exists within your project
already or you can browse to import a file elsewhere on your system.
