For finer control over placement, you can set the dots to be closer
together. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences to display the
Preferences window.

Click the word Global in the Category panel to display the global
options.

Click Snap to grid if you want Captivate to automatically place
elements so that they are touching the nearest grid lines or click
the checked box to turn off Snap to grid.
Tip: You can also turn Snap to grid on and off from the View menu.
You don't have to open the Preferences window each time.

The default grid size is 16 pixels between each dot, both horizon-
tally and vertically. Set this to the number that works for your
project. Larger numbers allow more space between the grid dots;
smaller numbers allow for more precise placement.
6.
Click OK to close the Captivate Preferences window and return to
the gridded slide.
