In-Depth Information
Adding a Blank Slide
You can insert blank slides anywhere in your project. You can use them
as placeholders for information you want to add later, or you can create
the slide and add elements to it right away. Once you've created the
slide, you can add elements such as images, text, and animation. You
can even turn it into a question slide or add interactivity as described
in later chapters.
To add a blank slide, follow these steps:
1.
Open the project to which you want to add a blank slide.
2.
Choose the location for the new slide within your project by
selecting the slide immediately before the one you want to add.
For example, if you have the first slide open, the new slide will be
inserted as slide number 2. You can move slides around later if you
need to.
3.
From the Insert menu, choose Blank Slide . The new blank slide
appears in your project.
Adding an Image Slide
An image slide is simply a slide with an image on it. When you're
recording new actions, you're actually creating image slides where the
image is a screen capture (the movements and other elements are
added separately). You can add an image slide anywhere in your
project. The image can be any stored file, such as a corporate logo or
product photo. This is particularly useful as an opening, or when
you're introducing a new section of the movie, or for ending the movie.
Before you begin, check the image file you're going to use. It
should meet these conditions:
The image must be in one of the valid Captivate image formats
(JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, ICO, EMF, or WMF).
The image should be approximately the same size as your movie.
If the image is too big, Captivate can either resize or crop the
image, but you may not get the exact results you expect.
The image should be oriented the same way as the movie. For
example, if you insert a vertical picture into a horizontally oriented
movie, the slide will have white stripes on either side.
