The main post office (8:30 A.M.-5 P.M. Mon.- Fri., 8:30 A.M.-1 P.M. Sat.) is downtown at
7a Avenida 11-67 Zona 1. There are also branches at the airport and the corner of Avenida
La Reforma and 14 Calle Zona 9 with the same hours. It's called El Correo.
For more reliable service, many people prefer to use one of the international couriers,

Internet access is widely available throughout the city, but especially downtown, costing
about $1-1.50 an hour. It's more expensive (like everything else) in Zona 10, though Web
Station (2a Avenida 14-63 Zona 10, 10 A.M.- midnight Mon.-Sat., noon-midnight Sun.) is
a cheaper option at $2.50 an hour.
MONEY
You can exchange dollars and cash travelers checks at virtually all of the city's banks, in-
cludingtheoneinthearrivalshalloftheinternationalairport.ATMslinkedtointernational
networks can be found all over the city. Be especially careful when withdrawing money at
ATMs in the downtown area. The safest places to hit up an ATM are the Guatemala City
shopping malls and hotel lobbies.

LAUNDRY
You can do laundry at some of the budget hotels, including the Xamanek Student Inn (13
Calle 3-57 Zona 10). Otherwise, downtown there's Lavandería El Siglo (12 Calle 3-42
Zona 1, 8 A.M.-6 P.M. Mon.-Sat., $4 per load). In Zona 10 is Lavandería Obelisco (Aven-
