furniture can be found at Mezzanine Home (4a Calle Oriente #30, tel. 4472-4242,
www.mezzaninehome.com ) . Differenza (5a Avenida Sur #24C, tel. 7832-1851, pierre@
conexion.com.gt, 9 A.M.-6 P.M. Mon.-Sat.) features the work of French sculptor and de-
signer Pierre Turlin. Among the unique finds are raku sculptures and bowls, blown-glass
stemware and decanters, and wooden furniture. The store also carries extraordinary hand-
crafted jewelry from two other Antigua resident artists. Casa Chicob (Callejón de la Con-
cepción #2, tel. 7832-0781) features a wonderful assortment of Guatemalan-inspired home
decor. Angelina (4a Calle Oriente #22, tel. 7832-1812, 10 A.M.-6 P.M. daily) sells prim-
itive antique furniture, reproductions of colonial columns, and contemporary sculpted fur-
niture. La Casa de las Escudillas (6a Avenida Sur # 4, tel. 7832-9257, 9 A.M.-8 P.M.
daily) sells antique furniture and ceramics. The best place for antiques is Casa Ancestral
(4a Calle Oriente #46, tel. 7832-9740, 9:30 A.M.-6 P.M. Fri.-Wed.).

For coffee, head to Tostaduría Antigua (6a Calle Poniente #26). You can buy Cuban and
Hondurancigars, aswell asenjoy them inacomfortable lounge, at Antigua Tabaco Com-

WELLNESS
One of Antigua's most interesting stores is La Tienda de Doña Gavi (3a Avenida Norte
#2, tel. 7832-6514, noon-7 P.M. daily), where you can pick up a number of natural rem-
edies, including Jacameb, a powerful concoction created from the jacaranda flower that
does the trick on amoebas and assorted other parasitic problems. (Friendly Doña Gavi also
serves the tastiest mango ice cream I've ever had.)
