bathochromic shift has occurred and the d Æ d transition peak is now clearly separated
at a wavelength of 405 nm. Photolysis of the reaction mixture leads to a further strong
batochromic shift. Two absorption peaks are found at 617 and 889 nm (see Figure 40
right part).
