The study gives first insight into the potential of the catalytic activity. Further studies
may investigate the photochemical degradation with light irradiation and time
dependent experiments to elucidate the kinetics and gain a more thorough view on the
catalytic behavior.

3.1.5.2 Reaction with CO

A position particularly interesting for chemical modification of the lacunary Keggin
cluster is the sixth coordination site at which a water ligand is normally bound (see
chapter 3.1.3.2). The water ligand can readily be substituted for other ligands like SCN - ,
CN - or SO 3 2- . [59] Interestingly no studies towards the reactivity with carbon monoxide
exist to the best of our knowledge.
