Whitehorse Bus Depot (2191 2nd Ave. behind Qwanlin Mall, 867/668-2223) is the
northern terminus for Greyhound. In summer, one bus a day heads south along the Alaska
Highway. At the time of publication, the only bus service that continues to Alaska is
provided by Alaska/Yukon Trails (800/770-7275, www.alaskashuttle.com ) , which charges
US$365 for the shuttle trip between Whitehorse and Fairbanks (Alaska) via Dawson City.
GETTING AROUND
Whitehorse Transit (867/668-7433, 6am-7pm Mon.-Sat., $2.50 per sector) operates a city-
wide public bus service. Pick up a schedule at the visitor center or from the drivers. All
routes begin and end beside Canadian Tire, opposite Qwanlin Mall.
Local taxi companies are 5th Avenue Taxi (867/667-4111), Whitehorse Taxi (867/
393-6543), and Yellow Cab (867/668-4811).
Look for the world's largest weathervane at the Whitehorse Airport.
If you need a rental vehicle, make reservations as far in advance as possible, since op-
